CCNP Security is similar other security-based certs in that it also confers DoD 8570.01M compliance. It is more network-oriented than other security-based certs. Therefore, the security concepts and principles you learn are in a Cisco context. They are also more specialized than Security+ certifications from CompTIA.

What does CCNP Security require?
There are no prerequisites for the CCNP. To be eligible for the specialized concentration certification exams you must first pass the core exam.
